Brian Lance Kasal
Brian Kasal is the CEO and founder of FourStar Wealth Advisors LLC, a national registered independent advisor firm headquartered in Chicago. Brian holds a MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and is active in the University’s Executive MBA program and is a frequent guest lecturer for the MBA program. Brian received his Political Science and Economics undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University.
Brian has been a member of the Portfolio Management Institute (PMI), Senior Portfolio Management Director and Senior Vice President of Morgan Stanley. Brian has also served clients at Paine Webber, Lehman Brothers and for 15 years at William Blair and Company as a Senior Principal in the Private Client Portfolio Management Group.
In addition to being an Eagle Scout and serving on the board of directors of the Chicago and Central Regional Council of the Boy Scouts of America for the last 15 years, Brian is a seated member of the National Finance Committee of the Boy Scouts and a trustee of the National BSA Foundation.
Recently Brian led a team of philanthropic advisors to found the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy. This organization is the nation’s leading philanthropic forum for financial advisors in the “best practices” to advise philanthropists on how to use their assets to make a difference in the world. Brian will be leading a team of hundreds of advisors in this 8 state area to help the advisors to have an increased global impact on their client’s philanthropic gifts. Brian now serves as this group’s chairman.
Another focus of Brian’s unlimited energy is that of Finance Chair of the Illinois Channel- the non-profit “C-Span” of Illinois which does non-partisan and public affairs broadcasting throughout the State of Illinois. He is active in public affairs having served as the Chicago leader of the Concord Coalition and Committeeman of Chicago’s 43rd Ward, in addition to fundraising for numerous state and local campaigns.
In addition Brian is also one of the early members of the Hyde Park Angels, the largest angel network in the Midwest. Hyde Park Angels was conceived and founded from a business class during Brian’s tenure at the University of Chicago’s Booth School. To date over 1000 start-up companies have been vetted and 31 have been co-funded with over 7 million dollars in early stage capital investment for these entrepreneurs.
Brian resides in Chicago’s Lincoln Park Neighborhood with his wife Tripti and sons Evan and Quinn.
